KNEUS has served as a vital Designated Microscopic Center (DMC) within the framework of the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP), operating in a fruitful Public-Private Partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh since 2003. Situated in Salarpur, Bhangel, within the Gautam Budh Nagar district, this center plays a pivotal role in extending healthcare access to an extensive population exceeding 1.5 lakhs in the Noida area, which is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi.

The Noida area, encompassing approximately 30 square kilometers, primarily comprises older villages and is characterized by a significant population of individuals living in rented accommodations. These residents predominantly consist of migrants from various states across India and often face social and economic challenges. Their demanding work schedules often hinder their utilization of healthcare services, and the area itself faces infrastructure challenges, including inadequate roadways, water supply, electricity, drainage, and sewage systems.

Counting the exact population in this dynamic and transient community is a challenge due to the frequent inflow and outflow of people. KNEUS's DMC in this area provides an essential General Outpatient Department (OPD) that caters to the specific healthcare needs of the local population. The center is staffed with qualified professionals, including a doctor, lab technician, non-medical supervisor, and a para-medical worker.

One of the center's primary services is offering free-of-cost sputum investigations and TB treatment, ensuring that individuals in the area have access to critical care. Recognizing the unique circumstances of the residents, many of whom are employed in nearby factories within the NCR, KNEUS has structured its service hours to align with their schedules, making healthcare accessible early in the morning to accommodate their working hours.

Salarpur and its surrounding regions, such as sectors and villages like Salarpur, Sector 101, Sector 104, Sector 79, Sector 113, Sector 80, Kakrala, Nagala, Sector 81, Sector 84, Sector 87, Yakubpur, Sector 89, Ilabansh, Sector 138, and Gejha, are particularly vulnerable to communicable diseases due to issues like sewage water stagnation in and around residential areas and cramped living conditions with inadequate ventilation.
